Ricky previously served as a Police Officer amassing almost 20 years’ initially with the NSW Police then the Queensland Police Service, gaining extensive invaluable knowledge in Criminal, Traffic, Drug, Weapons, Child Protection, Domestic & Family Violence legislation, policy, procedure and practices.
He completed a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Family Law and was awarded a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law in recognition of high Academic Achievement.
Ricky worked in Family Law (Parenting, Property, Divorce and Domestic and Family Violence matters) since he commenced Practice initially with a Boutique law firm in Brisbane, then in a small local firm where he then started practising in other areas including Criminal, Traffic and Child Protection matters.
He has performed Accredited Duty Lawyer and Youth Practitioner duties attending to Bail Applications, seeking adjournments and conducting pleas as a preferred supplier for Legal Aid.
He's worked as a Hotline Lawyer providing initial Legal Advice.
Also worked for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as a Lead Trainer and Assessor in Crime & Justice Studies and Legal Studies to Diploma Level, Trainer and Assessor in Justice of Peace Studies, and trained and assessed in Criminal Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Forensic Science and Legal Terminology.
Ricky has strong community ties to the Bundaberg Region having been born, schooled, lived and worked in the region most of his life, including working in volunteer roles (SES and Justice of the Peace) and as a Police Officer.
